5 ways to look classy in your 50's

Have you ever seen someone walk by and say to yourself  "WOW that lady looks so classy ....whats her secret?" We will give you 5 easy steps to make looking classy attainable for every woman and particularly for those of us over 50.

1. Pay attention to detail.

This point is so very important. Anything with strings hanging, buttons missing, too tight, too long, too short, too wrinkled, too pily automatically devalue their worth and come off as being cheap.  The same can be said of shoes with tattered heels and bags with broken straps. It's better to wear a few items that are in great shape than a multitude that are in substandard condition.

2. Invest in a classic full length dark colored coat

A coat is the one item in our closet that gets the most wear. Often it is the only piece of our outfit that is seen by others. There is not one occasion or  piece of clothing that a long coat can't be worn with.  They come in particularly handy for those special occasions when wearing that little black dress, mini skirt or even shorts in the colder months. There is nothing more "unclassy" than seeing a nice evening outfit with a bomber or ski jacket👎

3.Accessorize, accessorize accessorize

This does not mean that you empty your entire jewelry box when you step through the door. The idea here is that when planning an outfit consider what other pieces can be added to elevate the look you're trying to achieve. Belts, scarves, necklaces, sunglasses, cuffs and earrings are easy options.

4.Layer your clothing

Not only does layering add interest but it looks like some effort was made in curating an outfit.  That familiar black turtleneck takes on an elevated look when paired with a faux fur vest for example. Same can be said for the basic white tee paired with a blazer or fitted cardigan.

5.Put your best face forward.

Your face is the one thing you can't totally hide when you step out the door.  Ideally a bit of make up evens our skin tone, hides some imperfections and livens up our appearance. Be carefully  not to overemphasize one feature and neglect the others....for example...going heavy on the eye liner and neglecting the mascara or going exclusively for a red cheek.  The idea is to have a cohesive look. Having said that a red lip worn alone with a clean dewy face can make you look effortlessly classy.👄

We believe that using these simple guidelines will help you look like that classy woman you look at in the magazine or pass by in the mall.  Someone will look at you and think "WOW that lady looks so classy ...I wonder what's her secret?"
