50s is a GOOD place to be
Ladies Ladies Ladies .....don't allow the prospect of turning 50, being 50 or north of 50 dampen your spirit. This middle stage of our lives can be a period where our focus maybe shifting from career building and raising a family to self care and setting the course for the the years ahead.
At no other time have we enjoyed our own company as much as we do now. Never did we ever think that having the house to ourselves was a celebratory event and doing nothing was actually pleasurable. The idea of having alone time for extended periods was not possible while raising a young family and rightfully catering to their needs. Of course when occasions come around to get together with friends and loved ones we absolutely relish those.
It is in our 50s that we have found a hobby that energizes us. Our Instagram posting is a source of pleasure and provides an outlet to share our love for great style. We get to inspire other women and get inspiration from them. Not to mention we get to keep our fashion game current.
It is also in our 50s that we ended our longstanding relationship with hair dye and embraced the colour that our hair naturally grows from our head. We respectfully acknowledge that this may not be a popular choice but our point is that it is our 50s that we became comfortable doing the things that are meaningful to us as opposed to what was expected.
At a time when our bodies may not look their best we are more mindful to put the best into our bodies. We have become more focused on the nutritional value of our food and what good it can do for us. This is not to suggest that we pass on the occasional opportunity to indulge in a decadent treat.
We make it a point to have a coffee date 1-2times a week...and to be honest these coffee dates are just a dishonest title for shopping dates. Prior to the pandemic we made a concerted effort to go to the gym. We see these as activities that we can carry on into our retirement years (yes we said it) so that when the time comes we will already have some routines to look forward to or that we could even expand on.
So ladies embrace your 50s. We can't turn the clock back so let's set the stage to propel us into a happy fulfilled journey ahead.
